- After application to the skin the calamine evaporates, which produces a cooling effect that helps distract you from the itch
- Calamine cream also contains zinc oxide, which has a soothing effect and also has antiseptic properties that help prevent infection from scratching

Product Description:
Calamine Lotion is a pale pink lotion which separates on standing. It has a faint characteristic odour. Indications: Calamine Lotion is a mild astringent lotion recommended for the topical treatment of mild skin irritation and inflammation, including mild sunburn. Method of administration: Calamine Lotion is applied topically to the affected area with cotton wool and allowed to dry.
